I have done an ollie off a jump and survived.

Woot. Took a lesson last week full of learning how to do ollies, go off jumps, butters and 180s. Wicked cool! So exciting.  Also, the Cameron family took a lovely roadtrip off to Wanaka to hit up the mountain there, Treble Cone.  The snow was sooooo much better at TC than Coro or Remarks, but pretty steep and choppy...we all had quite a good time though! Anyway, the family was taking forever to get ready to go home the next morning so Eilidh and I just hitched home from Wanaka (it's only about 1.5 hours away from Queenstown) and managed to catch a lift to Snow Farm with a guy who does snow explosions and weapons for films and he was on his way to the Snow Farm to do some scouting out there for an upcoming film.  Snow Farm's only about halfway to QT, but it was raining and that definitely helps a hitcher! :) Anyway, the guy had some fake Russian Uzis or something in his car that he uses in the films so when he dropped us off, he let us take pictures with them next to a old-school gangster very conveniently situated just where he dropped us off. Pictures to come! Anyway, we made it home quite safely and it was a hilarious adventure.

It's been pretty dead on Coro as the snow's pretty much a layer of ice topped with a layer of the manmade garbage that feels like sand but it's "snow".  Funny comment to end on:  A woman asked one of our liftees what we do with the manmade snow at the end of each season.....He told her we cart it up in refrigerated boxes and store it in town over the summer....and she apparently believed him....womp womp!
